Using Our E-mail Panels
A panel is selected as part of a service package that provides rental
of an e-mail list. The cost of using a panel includes rental of the names
and sending out your invitation letter with a link to your survey. The
advantage of using a panel is three fold: (1) Using a panel automatically
provides a list of potential respondents; (2) Your invitation is sent
for you on the day you specify (no worry); and (3) The panel owner is
responsible for dealing with the panel, including requests for unsubscribing
from the panel. Panels rental fees are typically $1,000 and up.
All panels basically work the same. A panel is rented as a list of prospective
respondents for a single survey. Lists are not purchased. The way that
respondents become yours is by asking the respondents to fill in their
e-mail address. Any responses belong to you, since they responded to your
survey.
For more information about our panels, please phone (801) 705-4950
or email your contact information and specifications to: sales@surveypro.com
. We will answer your inquiry within 24 hours.

Using Your E-mail Client
Use this option if you do not want to track your respondents.
Use your Email Program (Outlook / Eudora / Netscape) to email to all the
users you want to survey. Copy your e-mail list to the BCC box. BCC (blind
carbon copy) prevents each respondent from seeing all other e-mail addresses).
Email them the address link to your survey... your address will look something
like the following and is found at the top of your builder page: "http://www.surveypro.com/TakeSurvey?id=6282"
Alternatively you can also email yourself a copy of the survey that you
can forward to your respondents.
If you want to enable tracking of your respondents, use the optional
Address Book feature. This enables you to upload email addresses, send
your invitations and track who responded.
Delivery
Using The Address Book
The address book allows you to upload your e-mail addresses, build an
e-mail message to your prospective respondents and send the e-mail message.
The address book is available in the "Master and Professional"
level accounts. Specific features of the address book include:
Bulk Upload Email Addresses
Send up to 500 e-mail invitations at a time
Customize the Subject and the text of the email
Delivery of the emails on your behalf
Tracking of the Sent/Viewed and Taken Emails
The Email addresses are part of the Excel Download (part of the 360 Tracking
feature)
Website
Links
A Simple Text Link can be created using the survey address as follows:
<A HREF="http://www.surveypro.com/TakeSurvey?id=6283">Link
Text Here</A>
Text
Link with Source Tracking
If you have multiple locations from which you will be linking to the survey...
or if you have multiple mailouts or samples you would like track, use
the ext_ref parameter as a survey address.
The value passed with with the ext_ref variable is part of the Excel
Download.
Examples:
<A HREF="http://www.surveypro.com/TakeSurvey?id=6283&ext_ref=site1">Link
Text Here</A>
<A HREF="http://www.surveypro.com/TakeSurvey?id=6283&ext_ref=site2">Link
Text Here</A>
In this case, the text "site1" or "site2" will appear
in the external reference field of the database.
PopUp
Surveys
If you would like to popup a survey everytime a Page is loaded by users
coming to your web-site... or only the first time they visit, javascript
codes are inserted into your Web Page where you want the popup to appear.
Embedded
Survey (Newsletter or Website)
You can also embed the survey as a part of your existing website or send
the survey out as part of your newsletter by inserting the following HTML
snippet:
<FORM ACTION="http://www.surveypro.com/TakeSurvey"
METHOD="POST"> <INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME="id"
VALUE="6283"> <TABLE WIDTH="100%">
A
Note on Tracking E-mail Addresses of Respondents
Users often ask if they can see the e-mail addresses of those who respond.
The Internet is anonymous, meaning that a 12 digit address code is recorded
identifying a specific company or machine, but e-mail addresses are not
transmitted and cannot be captured. The only way respondents can be identified
or tracked is for you to have their e-mail address first, and then send
out your survey invitation with a special respondent ID code that matches
the a code in either your or our database.
We support tracking in two ways, through our address book, which attaches
a code to the e-mail addresses you upload, and through a special codes
feature that allows clients with databases to attach their own ID code
to the survey. The special code is recorded with the survey data and can
even be returned to the client, informing them that a survey was received
from that respondent.
