Online Self Help
Can I download the results to Statistical Analysis programs like SPSS?

We provide you with downloads of both the Raw Data as well as the analysis reports.

To import the data into statistical programs like SPSS we provide the raw data as a CSV (Comma Separated) ASCII Text file and import it into SPSS.

SPSS constrains the width (number of characters) for the Variable Name Labels to 8. In the Excel file you will note that at the top of the columns, the labels from your survey include both the questions (on one line) and the answers (on the line below them). The Variable Name Labels will need to be shortened to 8 characters each and to appear in the appropriate columns along the first row of the Excel spreadsheet.

Once in Excel, you can adjust formatting for the number of decimals, column width, string vs numeric data, etc.

Once completed with formatting, you must save the data as a tab delimited text file.

Open SPSS and select Open and specify the Tab Delimited Text option for the type of data file. Next, select and click on your data file. A dialogue box will appear asking about the data range and if Variable Name Labels are to be read. Click yes, but you don't need to specify the range. The data will be automatically loaded into the SPSS data spreadsheet
